One of the perks of being a Bergen County, NJ resident is that there are many highly desirable cars around. Unfortunately, many owners don't drive these sports cars regularly, so they end up sitting in the garage, under covers until they come out once a year for a car show.
In an effort to get those cars out of their garages and onto the road, I've started a monthly car meet for any owner of a sports, exotic or classic car in the area. The meets will be very casual, unlike competitive car shows, which offer prizes and charge fees. This will simply be an opportunity for owners to show off their cars, meet other owners and give people a chance to see the cars.
The first meet has been scheduled for Sunday, December 2nd at 11 AM in the Ridgewood High School parking lot. We will run through roughly 2 PM, depending on the turnout. We will have the event, weather-permitting. If it is raining or snowing hard, the meet will be postponed (I will update this page by Sunday morning if there needs to be a change).
If you would like more information or want to be added to my e-mail list for future meets, e-mail me at "carsandcoffeeNJ@yahoo.com." I will be sending e-mails out with information about future meets from that account.
Finally, this Sunday's meet will include a hurricane relief fundraiser. If you'd like to make a donation, I will be collecting them this Sunday for them to be donated directly to hurricane victims in need of help.
Hopefully we'll have a solid turnout for the first meet and continue to build and grow the meets in the future. If you know someone who owns a sports car, pass this information along to them! I hope to see you on Sunday.
